Dr Rashmi at Riva Clinic said " During Summer, wear sunscreen all the time you are out of the home. Wearing sunscreen helps you protect your skin from harmful ultraviolet rays. UV rays can cause multiple skin disorders, which can damage your skin and take longer to cure"

Skin Hydration

It is necessary to stay hydrated during the summer, especially in Dubai, where the temperatures are extremely high. This is important not only because of the high temperatures but also because most people use an air conditioner throughout the day and night. Air conditioning is one of the culprits that cause dry skin. It is advised to moisturize your skin and hydrate from within by drinking many fluids, especially water. Fruits like watermelon and vegetables also provide hydration.

Hygiene

Summer heat causes a lot of sweating which invites bacterial germination. In addition to that, sweat absorbs dust particles from the air. This may lead to clogs on your skin pores. Clogged skin pores can cause acne. Keep your skin pores clean by simply rinsing with water or soap. Dermatologists at Riva advise cleaning your face & hands thrice a day during summer.

Eyes & Lips

Apart from our skin, Eyes and Lips are also the victims of direct sun rays. Whenever you are outside, ensure that your eyes are protected by wearing sunglasses. Apply a lip balm with SPF to protect your lips.

Exfoliate

Exfoliation is necessary for smooth, glowing skin. It removes dead cells that accumulate on your face Exfoliation is an essential step to achieving flawless skin, but overdoing it can cause harm.

We advise you to use products with gentle ingredients to prevent your skin from micro-tears, which can get infected. When done right, exfoliation boosts the absorption of other products in your skin, such as your moisturizer. It also unclogs your pores; this gives your skin a smooth appearance. Exfoliate at least thrice a week if you have normal skin or twice a week if your skin is sensitive.

Medical Care

Although most of us can take care of our skin with self-care, it is only practical that you may get affected during summer & get skin complications. People with sensitive skin need extensive care.

If you have come under any skin issues due to heat and rays, we strongly advise you to consult a good dermatologist. Where Home care can prevent a lot of skin issues, you may not know what to do if precaution doesn't work. Consulting a verified skin specialist is only wise.

People or Children who suffer eczema flares due to heat should be in immediate touch with a dermatologist. Summer can have a devastating effect if not handled professionally.
